Client Service Charter

We are committed to giving you financial advice and lasting guidance that is for the long-term, through longstanding relationships based on trust, expertise and empathy.

Our philosophy is simple:

We believe in financial wellbeing for all. We will provide a highly personalised service, with the aim of ‘earning the right’ to be your trusted financial adviser for many years to come. We will help you to manage your financial affairs confidently, and always base our advice on your personal goals and values. We do this through personal, face-to-face financial advice.

Our service includes:

  • Face-to-face review meetings as often as you need
  • Being contactable by phone between our regular reviews, if you have a question or a concern, or your circumstances change
  • Keeping you well-informed and up to date with any financial matters that may be of direct relevance or interest to you personally
  • Making our own information and communication as clear and simple as we can
  • Offering clarity and guidance in all aspects of your financial wellbeing.

When we meet you to review your personal finances, we will:

  • Take as much time as we both need to fully understand your current financial situation and your personal goals
  • Fully review your life goals and adapt your financial plan to help achieve them
  • Rebalance your investment portfolio and fund choices if we need to
  • Help you make the most of your annual tax allowances
  • Keep you up to date with legislation and Budget changes
  • Help you to review what level of investment risk you feel comfortable with as your priorities and life goals change over time – and make sure your investments reflect that.

Working together, we aim to make sure that you:

  • Have a clear understanding of your personal and financial objectives
  • Have a plan in place that matches your personal values and goals, and the level of risk you feel comfortable with
  • Have a proactive process in place to review your financial plans and help make sure they meet your needs at every stage of your life.

We will keep in touch with you regularly. This means that you’re kept fully informed of how your money is being managed and up to date with any market changes, particularly ones that might affect you directly. We will agree with you at the outset what you can expect and when.

The value of an investment with St. James’s Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.

The levels and bases of taxation and reliefs from taxation can change at any time. The value of any tax reliefs depends on individual circumstances.
