We have a responsibility to use our influence and our money
to make a lasting difference. Money has the power to change lives.
But money doesn’t change the world. People do.
St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation has been supporting
those in need since 1992. We aim to make a positive and lasting difference to people’s lives by awarding grants to grassroot charities, supporting the incredible work they do in their communities every day. The Charitable Foundation has raised over £111 million so far, supporting millions of people across the world.
We believe everybody should prosper, not just the wealthy few.
Established in 1992, the Charitable Foundation is the 3rd largest corporate Foundation in the UK.* We support in the following areas:
· Helping children and young people who have a
physical or learning disability or are disadvantaged
· Hospices
· Cancer support charities
· Mental Health
We’re not about getting in the media with ‘good news‘ stories. Our range of grant programmes reach out to smaller, grassroots charities; ones which aren’t in the public eye.
Our own SJP community of employees and advisers take part in a wide range of fundraising activities throughout the year. Almost 85% of us make a regular monthly gift to the Foundation. Every pound raised is matched by St. James’s Place Plc – with the company donating over £4.2m to the Charitable Foundation through matching in 2021.
It provides funding and support to over 800 charities every year – with 85% of funding going to charities in the UK and 15% overseas.
2.5 million people have been directly supported. In the past, the Foundation has paid the salary of a youth worker supporting disadvantaged young people and helped to build a specialist hydrotherapy pool for children with severe disabilities. We’ve been able to support another 5.5 million people indirectly too.
